2 km Radius Petition

Internationally recognised organisations are now recommending that industrial turbines are sited no nearer than 2 kms from homes or buildings where people regularly congregate. (See table below)

Both Infinergy's and RidgeWind's plans are to locate industrial turbines as close as 750 metres to homes and offices. BLOT is concerned that these do not fall in with International recommendations and as a result have started a petition to endeavour to change Government' policy on this.

BLOT has set up the following petition on the Downing Street website:

We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to Establish an automatic buffer zone of at least 2 km between any new industrial size wind turbine and any home.

More details: No industrial size wind turbine will be built closer than 2 km unless the right to protection has been waived by all households within this 2 km zone.

Disclaimer: This website represents the views and opinions of the BLOT committee and our members. We have strived to be as accurate as we can in relaying industry and media news on the subject of industrial-scale wind turbine developments. Please note, the image at the top of the page is an artistic representation of what the proposed Infinergy turbines would look like. We have tried to make it as accurate as possible by using the known height of the anemometer (just visible) in the photo and the proposed locations of the turbines from an Ordanance Survey map.
