RidgeWind erects their anemometer!
RidgeWind is planning to erect eight more turbines only one field away from Infinergy’s site. This second developer has erected a mast to measure the wind speed in an area they call ‘Palmers Hollow’. This would indicate that RidgeWind is serious about starting the planning process.

Bottesford is much closer to this new site with some houses only 750 metres from the nearest turbine. At a time when internationally recognised organisations are now recommending that industrial turbines are sited no nearer than 2 kilometres from homes or buildings where people regularly congregate, this is extremely worrying. The proximity of the site to Bottesford highlights even more the potential noise and health hazards.

Remember, Melton Borough Council and Leicester County Council recommended that SKDC refuse Infinergy's plans for industrial turbines just over the border in Lincolnshire at Thacksons Well Farm. Let us hope they do the same when considering an application in their own area.

BLOT will fight this application if it goes ahead. We have had experience and success already and will prepare a professional and robust objection. This of course will require financial and other help from our supporters.

BLOT will endeavour to keep everyone informed.

Disclaimer: This website represents the views and opinions of the BLOT committee and our members. We have strived to be as accurate as we can in relaying industry and media news on the subject of industrial-scale wind turbine developments. Please note, the image at the top of the page is an artistic representation of what the proposed Infinergy turbines would look like. We have tried to make it as accurate as possible by using the known height of the anemometer (just visible) in the photo and the proposed locations of the turbines from an Ordanance Survey map.
