InfinergyBLOT has flown a blimp directly adjacent to Infinergy's site. It was flown at a height of 125m, which is the blade tip height of the proposed turbines. Photographs were taken of the blimp from a wide range of locations. The blimp, measuring only 6m x 2m, does not indicate the full scale and visual intrusion of 10 turbines with rotating 35m blades, but it does provide an indication, from any given spot, whether the turbines will be visible and from where the visual impact will be greatest. It was found that there would be a major visual impact up to at least 5km around the proposed site.

Disclaimer: This website represents the views and opinions of the BLOT committee and our members. We have strived to be as accurate as we can in relaying industry and media news on the subject of industrial-scale wind turbine developments. Please note, the image at the top of the page is an artistic representation of what the proposed Infinergy turbines would look like. We have tried to make it as accurate as possible by using the known height of the anemometer (just visible) in the photo and the proposed locations of the turbines from an Ordanance Survey map.
